I love to read and I love learning about new strategies/ideas as a therapist but also as a parent.
When I chat with families, I often recommend a few books that would benefit them.
Over the years, I have learned alot from experienced therapists however sometimes books have given me so much value. Reading is also a calming activity for me so its a great BONUS!
Here is a list of 5 books I recommend as therapist but also as a parent:
The Out-of-Sync Child: Recognizing & Coping with Sensory Processing Differences by Carol Stock Kranowitz.
The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind by Daniel Siegel.
Self-Reg: How to Help Your Child (and you) Break the Cycle Successfully Engage with Life by Stuart Shanker.
How to Ttalk so Little Kids Will Listen: A Survival Guide to Life with Children Ages 2-7 by Joanna Faber & Julie King.
Brain-Body Parenting: How to Stop Managing Behaviors & Start Raising Joyful, Resilient Kids by Mona Delahooke.
If you have a book that resinates with you, I would love to hear about it! I am always on the look out for more books to read :)
Thank you for your time!
Jessica Earle, OT
